Introduction to Building Performance Analysis Course

This Introduction to Building Performance Analysis course will provide you with a background for building performance analysis (BPA) and help you later when you learn how to actually use Autodesk software. This course does not require any software use, but it’s a good prerequisite for Autodesk software based courses.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to use Revit for Energy Analysis in Building Elements Mode.
  • Build thermal properties into your Revit building elements for Energy Analysis.
  • Access and be able to interpret and compare Revit Energy Analysis results.
  • Verify the accuracy of your Energy Analysis Model.

If you are interested in taking all 7 individual courses in the High Performance Building Design series, we encourage you to, instead, register for the Building Performance Analysis Certificate, which offers the same 7 courses and will provide you with a certificate of completion.

Through a case study example, fundamental theory, quizzes, software exercises, and software documentation, learn actionable energy analysis workflows for Revit. This course will better prepare architects and engineers to conduct and understand energy analysis and the associated results. Users will learn to associate physical processes to energy simulation methods and perform actual software analyses to prove fluency.

Topics covered include workflow videos and datasets for energy analysis with conceptual constructions, building elements and customized thermal properties, interpreting results, and accessing and checking the Energy Analytical Model all in Autodesk Revit.
